Bruce Power's New Office Complex and Training Facility Reaches Substantial Completion

February 13, 2019, Toronto, ON – The Concert Infrastructure Fund (Concert Infrastructure) and its partners Bird Construction, Concert Realty Services and Stonebridge Financial, are pleased to announce that Bruce Power’s MCR Training Facility in Kincardine, Ontario has reached Substantial Completion. 

The facility features a two-storey office area and a single-storey high-bay shop area for training and storage, welcoming over 500 employees to work every day. The 129,000 square foot building is situated offsite and will directly support the Bruce Power Major Component Replacement (MCR) project. 

“We are thrilled to have achieved this significant milestone for the MCR Training Facility,” says Concert Infrastructure Senior Vice President, Derron Bain. “The entire Concert Infrastructure team along with our partners at Bruce Power, Bird Construction and Concert Realty Services have worked meticulously the past 16 months, including an early works program, to deliver this project on-time and on-budget.”

With construction substantially complete, Bruce Power now has full access to the offices and the unique training tools within the facility. As part of the modified design-build-finance-maintain contract, Concert Infrastructure will continue to provide management oversight to the facility, working alongside Concert Realty Services who will provide the maintenance and lifecycle services within the facility over the 26.5 -year term of the concession.
